Brecht and Scott describe non-spammy content automation for your website and its application to both bootstrappers and corporations. Brecht shares his tactics for improving his inbox hit rate with his email course, and how he uses that to learn from and segment his customers. We also talk about how common it is to build, build, build before trying to sell, a sin we admit we have committed.

Hey all, here’s the post I said I’d write about the first email in your educational drip series, AKA your “email mini course“)

Hi guys,
Congrats for the show, I started listening a few episodes ago and I like it!
You were talking about complicated search queries and adding more components to the search over time.
Well, there’s this tool called Elastic Search (http://www.elasticsearch.org/), based on Lucene, which is pretty easy to setup and it works like a charm. You throw data at it and it basically takes over (the search part). Searches are performed via an API. Good stuff, used by big products!
Cheers!
