Hey guys. Really nice to hear the adjustments you are making now that you see your offering as a two-sided marketplace. I’m curious what made you decide to enter the initial listings for the brokers. Are they telling you that’s what is keeping them from getting on board?
Even with the concierge data entry, I’m not sure I understand how you’ve answered the age old question of, “what’s in it for them?”
Let’s say you reach your goal of 5 listing for ten brokers in the next two weeks. Without a viewing audience (yet) what is the initial value for the broker? You mentioned the appeal of being an early adopter… Do the 10 brokers you picked fall into the camp of people who enjoy being early adopters?
I think it would be monumentally beneficial if there was something you could give them right away. Is there something you can show them after their properties are in the system that they cannot see anywhere else? Is there some tool you can offer them that uses their data that will help them in some way as soon as it has been entered?
For example:
You said in a past episode (if I recall correctly) that most of these brokers have crap for websites. Can a widget be generated and put on their sites that will show the listings they have in CRELister? Something visually appealing that doesn’t suck ass like what they have now and something that has a “powered by…” link on it for both human and SEO benefit.
I can hear a very familiar tone of frustration in your voices and I’d hate to see you go through the expense (time or money) of entering their data if doing so will get you nothing more than a halfhearted “thanks” from a few brokers.
Much love and respect for fellow bootstrapped entrepreneurial parents who are just trying to make a little poopie. (Did I really just type that?)

I’ve been listening since the beginning, keep up the good work!
I was curious, did I miss the link to the ‘secret podcast’? Point me in the right direction if you did post it somewhere.

Hey Scott, you haven’t missed the link, it’s sitting in my todo list… Hopefully in the next couple of days…

I’ve listened to every episode and love it but I’m pretty sure this would be the first episode I’ve heard Scott curse (and he seemed so uncomfortable doing it). Anyway, keep up the good work guys I’ll get out to that iTunes interface someday.
