Brecht and Scott are back from Microconf 2014 and pulled together a quick review of what were the highlights for us. Amazing to meet everyone, so many good ideas, tactics, and guidance. Also a big thank you to Rob Walling and Mike Taber for pulling this group of people together!
Stuff:
- Annielytics – Great guidance on how to properly use Google Analytics

Dudes! *I* was hoping to make the ‘funniest guy at Microconf’ award. At least I made money at the Craps!

You should take a few pages of the stock report and offer it free as an opt-in bribe. A video interview with someone from the industry or a video summary of the state of the industry that you extrapolate from the data would work as well. I think you can convert a lot more emails with a baited hook.
Brecht Polombo says
yes, he should do that

Done.

How serious are you guys about starting a new conference? Brian Casel and I put together http://bigsnowtinyconf.com in January, but it’s only really for snowboarders/skiers. A more general conference somewhere warm in late February would be fuckin’ perfect.

Damnit I need to subscribe to the comments here, what the hell is wrong with me? Unacceptable lag. Brad I am really interested in putting something together. I wouldn’t want to be too close to Microconf. I would love to do something somewhat exclusive (in that you’d have to be in business/operational for real in order to attend) so that we could have some higher level discussion/sessions. I’m pushing through a big release on dp but when that’s done (seriously, it has to happen someday) I want to put this in queue.
I signed up for your list on the Ski summit.

Nice dude, if you’d like some help starting this up let me know. I’m very fond of Negril, Jamaica and have been resisting the urge to look into feasibility of a conference there.
